Our prep classes are designed to help professionals challenge a State/ National Exam or simply to enhance skills in a specific area. Our prep programs are offered weekly, biweekly and monthly. CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) PREP

CNA is one of the fastest growing jobs in the healthcare industry. Over 17% of growth is expected between the year 20114-2024. Florida is a retirement State and the shortage for caregivers is always a concern. This course will prepare student to sit for the required FL CNA examination, both the written and clinical.

Nursing Assistants are certified by the Florida Board of Nursing. They usually work under the direction of other health care professionals.

​NOTICE: Please note that this is a preparation program, which we recommend for individual with experience and prior certification. If you do not have any experience, we recommend our HHA program along with this prep class. Please contact the office or send us an email for further details. Upon completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant preparation program, you are highly encouraged to sit for the Florida State Certification exam. Our office is happy to assist you with the process.

Day schedule- 1 week
Monday to Thursday – 8am to 4pm
Evening Schedule – 2 weeks
Monday to Thursday – 5:30pm to 9:45pm
  • The tuition for this course is $500 (CPR and CEUs not included)
  • All necessary class materials such as book, practicing tools are included.
  • Student is responsible for CPR, CEUS, Medical Scrubs and Stat exam
  • Grants and scholarships are not available for this program.

The State exam is conducted on site and the cost is $140.00 + $80.00 fingerprint fee. This fee is not included in the tuition above. Instructions to apply for the exam will be provided the first day of class.

PHLEBOTOMY WORKSHOP PREP

This prep class is designed for experienced healthcare professionals. A diploma for Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, Nurses and PCT is required. This is a 40 hour pre class which covers the basic, order of draws and National Exam preparation. This course is not recommended for students with no experience.

Day schedule- 1 week
Monday to Thursday – 8am to 4pm
Evening Schedule – 2 weeks
Monday to Thursday – 5:30pm to 9:45pm

The tuition for this course is $600.00. All necessary class materials such as book, practicing tools are included. Student is responsible for CPR, CEUS, Medical Scrubs and National exam, optional.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (EKG) PREP

This comprehensive 40-hour course is designed for those who provide care to patients requiring 12-Lead ECG monitoring and interpretation. Participants should already have a basic understanding of cardiac A&P, electrophysiology, and cardiac rhythms. Therefore, CPA and a diploma for Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant or higher is required to complete this course.

This prep class is designed for experienced healthcare professionals. We recommend it Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, Nurses and PCTs. This is a 40 hour pre class which covers the basic and 12 leads study of EKG. This course is not recommended for students with no experience.
Day schedule- 2 week
Monday to Thursday – 8am to 2pm

Evening Schedule – 3 weeks
Monday to Thursday – 5:30pm to 9:45pm

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) PREP

Medical Assistant is one of the fastest growing careers in the health care industry today. Being certified as a medical assistant not only sets you apart from the rest, but you will feel more confident providing care and performing your work duties with confidence. This course is designed for experienced or on the job trained Medical Assistants seeking certification. Candidates have the choice to complete a day or evening class.

This prep class is designed for prospective student with a 3+ years working experience as a Medical Assistant under a doctor or prospective student who have graduated from a 2 year degree or diploma Medical assistant program. This course is not recommended for students with no experience or a previous MA certificate or degree.
Weekend schedule- 8 weeks
Fridays -5:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Saturdays – 9:00am to 3:30pm

CARDIAC MONITOR TECHNICIAN | NEW PREP CLASS

Students will learn the tasks and activities that a Monitor/Telemetry Technician will be expected to perform on the job. All students are giving the tools needed to perform these duties once they complete the telemetry technician course. Duties include registering a patient, maintaining cardiac monitoring device support, educating the patient, administering cardiac tests, analyzing rhythms and processing test findings.

  • Telemetry technicians, also known as monitoring technicians or cardiac monitoring technicians, are responsible for monitoring a patient’s heart activity.
  • The medical industry is in need of more telemetry technicians so a career in this field can be lucrative. The Cardiac Monitor Technician also known as Telemetry Technician course prepares students for a position within a hospital setting.
  • The Cardiac Monitor or Telemetry Technician course is a 2-4 week long course that completely prepares students to perform the daily duties related to cardiac monitoring and telemetry.
  • Upon completion of the 60 hours course students will receive a Monitor Technician/Telemetry Certificate. There is no State exam required, but graduates are encouraged to sit for the National exam.

When you complete the Telemetry/Monitor Technician program, you will have mastered many skills including:

  • Describe the cardiovascular system
  • Identify legal and ethical responsibilities of an EKG Monitor Technician
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, apply and use medical instrumentation modalities
  • Perform patient care techniques in the health care facility
  • Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac telemetry monitoring results
  • Describe common cardiovascular drugs, their actions, use and adverse effects
  • Set up telemetry monitoring, interpret and report abnormal rhythms to the nurse
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and use interpersonal skills effectively.
  • Use oral and written communication skills in creating, expressing and interpreting information
  • Perform clerical duties
  • Perform patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures
  • Prepare discharge/transfer chart for medical records/new unit
  • Demonstrate the importance of health, safety, and environmental management systems in organizations and their importance to organizational performance and regulatory compliance
  • Read, interpret, process, coordinate and transcribe physicians’ orders
  • Organize and maintain efficient work practices
This is a continuing education course for graduates of a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician or Phlebotomy Technician or Mental Health Technician program who will acquire additional skills and may be suited for positions such as a patient monitor technician, ECG/cardiac technician or telemetry technician.
Course hours: 60 (2-4 weeks)
Day class: 8am to 2pm for 2 weeks
Evening class: 5:30pm to 4:00pm for 4 week
  • Eligible Candidates: Graduates from Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician who are already nationally certified as EKG Technician.
  • National Exam: Students are encouraged to sit for the certified rhythm analysis technician (CRAT) exam upon the completion of the course.
  • Cost: The cost of the program is to be determined.
