CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) PREP

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is one of the fastest-growing roles in healthcare, with a projected 17% job growth between 2014 and 2024. In Florida—a retirement state with a high demand for caregivers—this course prepares students to take the required Florida CNA examination, covering both written and clinical components.

Nursing Assistants in Florida are certified by the Florida Board of Nursing and typically work under the supervision of other healthcare professionals.

NOTICE: This is a preparatory program, recommended for individuals with prior experience or certification. For those without experience, we suggest our Home Health Aide (HHA) program along with this prep class. Please contact our office or email us for additional information. After completing the Certified Nursing Assistant preparation program, students are highly encouraged to take the Florida State Certification exam. Our office can assist you with the exam registration process.

Day schedule- 1 week

PHLEBOTOMY WORKSHOP PREP

This prep class is designed for experienced healthcare professionals, requiring a diploma in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, Nursing, or Patient Care Technology (PCT). The 40-hour preparatory course covers essential topics, including the order of draws and preparation for the National Exam. Please note that this course is not recommended for students without prior experience in the healthcare field.

Day schedule- 1 week

Evening Schedule – 2 weeks
Monday to Thursday – 5:30pm to 9:45pm

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (EKG) PREP

This comprehensive 40-hour course is designed for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients requiring 12-Lead ECG monitoring and interpretation. Students should possess a foundational understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac rhythms. Therefore, certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a diploma in Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, or a higher-level healthcare program are prerequisites for enrollment in this course.

This prep class is designed for experienced healthcare professionals, particularly Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). This 40-hour preparatory course covers foundational concepts and 12-lead EKG interpretation. Please note that this course is not recommended for individuals without prior healthcare experience.

Evening Schedule – 3 weeks

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) PREP

Medical Assisting is one of the fastest-growing careers in the healthcare industry today. Becoming a certified Medical Assistant not only distinguishes you from others in the field but also enhances your confidence in providing care and performing your duties effectively. This course is designed for experienced or on-the-job-trained Medical Assistants who are seeking certification. Candidates can choose to enroll in either a day or evening class to fit their schedules.

“This prep class is designed for prospective students with at least 3 years of working experience as a Medical Assistant under a physician or those who have graduated from a 2-year degree or diploma Medical Assistant program. This course is not recommended for individuals without prior experience or a previous Medical Assistant certificate or degree.

Weekend schedule- 8 weeks
Fridays -5:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Saturdays – 9:00am to 3:30pm

CARDIAC MONITOR TECHNICIAN | NEW PREP CLASS

Students will learn the tasks and activities expected of a Monitor/Telemetry Technician in a professional setting. This course equips students with the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively upon completion. Key responsibilities include registering patients, maintaining support for cardiac monitoring devices, educating patients on procedures and care, administering cardiac tests, analyzing heart rhythms, and processing test findings.

  • Telemetry technicians, also known as monitoring technicians or cardiac monitoring technicians, are responsible for monitoring a patient’s heart activity.

  • The medical industry is in need of more telemetry technicians, making a career in this field potentially lucrative. The Cardiac Monitor Technician, also known as the Telemetry Technician course, prepares students for a position within a hospital setting.

  • The Cardiac Monitor or Telemetry Technician course is a 2-4 week-long program that fully prepares students to perform the daily duties related to cardiac monitoring and telemetry.

  • Upon completion of the 60-hour course, students will receive a Monitor Technician/Telemetry Certificate. There is no state exam required, but graduates are encouraged to take the national exam.

When you complete the Telemetry/Monitor Technician program, you will have mastered many skills including:

  • Describe the cardiovascular system
  • Identify legal and ethical responsibilities of an EKG Monitor Technician
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, apply and use medical instrumentation modalities
  • Perform patient care techniques in the health care facility
  • Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac telemetry monitoring results
  • Describe common cardiovascular drugs, their actions, use and adverse effects
  • Set up telemetry monitoring, interpret and report abnormal rhythms to the nurse
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and use interpersonal skills effectively.
  • Use oral and written communication skills in creating, expressing and interpreting information
  • Perform clerical duties
  • Perform patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures
  • Prepare discharge/transfer chart for medical records/new unit
  • Demonstrate the importance of health, safety, and environmental management systems in organizations and their importance to organizational performance and regulatory compliance
  • Read, interpret, process, coordinate and transcribe physicians’ orders
  • Organize and maintain efficient work practices

This is a continuing education course designed for graduates of Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, or Mental Health Technician programs. Participants will acquire additional skills that may qualify them for positions such as Patient Monitor Technician, ECG/Cardiac Technician, or Telemetry Technician.

Course hours: 60 (2-4 weeks)
Day class: 8am to 2pm for 2 weeks
Evening class: 5:30pm to 9:45pm for 4 week
  • Eligible Candidates: Graduates from Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician who are already nationally certified as EKG Technician.
  • National Exam: Students are encouraged to sit for the certified rhythm analysis technician (CRAT) exam upon the completion of the course.

CNA WEEKEND BOOTCAMP | LIMITED AVAILABILITY

Students in the CNA Bootcamp Prep Class will gain essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the nursing board exam and begin a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This intensive course covers core patient care techniques, vital sign monitoring, and patient interaction essentials. By the end of the bootcamp, students will be well-prepared to perform CNA duties confidently and excel in the certification exam, positioning them to enter the healthcare field with the skills required to support patients and medical staff effectively.

Class length: 1 week
Weekend Class Schedule:
